One other note:
On the page of the ODBC dialog where it deals with authenticity, if I select
"With SQL Server authenticity...", I get the error:
Connection Failed
SQLState '28000'
SQL Server Error: 18452
[Microsoft][OSBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'sa'. Reason:
Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.
So I used "With Windows NT authenticity..."
And I thought this was supposed to be easy?

Did you use the VFP installation of MSDE? And if so, which version of Fox did you install from?
Basically I think if you did it got installed in Windows auth mode. You can change it to mixed or sql server mode using a complicated set of steps on the command line *or* by fixing the registry key <g>.
Default instance:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\MSSqlserver\MSSqlServer\LoginMode
Named instance:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\Instance Name\MSSQLServer\LoginMode
You can change it to 0 or 2 for mixed mode. *** however if you do this you should make sure that the sa password is not blank, for security reasons if there is any outside access to this machine *** You can do this through a COM object, don't have time to write this out now but Garrett may pick up on this thread and explain.
