Put the local tables in a .DBC... then use remote views to connect to the .DBC.
...Plus if you design your VFP tables properly (Like SQL tables....for example dont use TIME fields, use DateTime), then if those VFP tables ever become SQL or Oracle tables, all you have to do is change one connection string.
