Just looking at the online demos, and was considering looking at the trial version. The 15 day limitation on the trial version means that I would have to make sure I understood C# well enough to get a good idea what its about.
I was initially looking for Refactoring tools. Based on my experience so far I can see that the ability to refactor projects that were created with my beginners understanding might be very important. The ability to drag and drop between different classes looked like it might be useful.

Also, I'm trying to get a way to view my class structure easily. I was thinking that I might just get the 15 day trial to graphically model the MM.net classes and see if I could learn anything about the structure of this framework.

From the standpoint of learning a new language I thought the language 'template' screens might be useful in the beginning, though I'm not sure how much they might get in the way of more advanced programming. Under the demonstration 'Adding Fields Properties and Parameters' you can see an example of what I'm talking about.

Finally I was just impressed with the fact that an outside vendor was able to add such a cool 'value added' tool on top of VS.Net.

Thanks for the response - I'll take a look at the Whidbey announcement.

>You will probably be interested in the upcoming announcements of the next version of Visual Studio code named Whidbey. Many details of Whidbey will be announced at the PDC conference (http://msdn.microsoft.com/events/pdc/) next month. Check out the last sentence in the Language and Tools description at http://msdn.microsoft.com/events/pdc/tracks.aspx, it mentions modeling tools.
