While I signed up for the do-not-call-list and I believe it is a good idea, I have to agree that if it is illegal, then it should be accomplished in a 'legal' way. According to what I have read and heard on it, the FTC does not have the authority to implement and enforce it. Yet we know it is what the people want. Hopefully, a legal way to implement it will be found since the list is voluntary but adherence to it by telemarketers should not be. I can put a no-solicitation sign on my door and marketers must adhere to it, but how do you put one on your phone?

I am not happy with the decision, but part of history's problems have been government and government agencies overstepping their bounds. The new increased bounds of the FBI and other agencies due to Homeland Security has me concerned as well. While we do not expect that we as law abiding patriotic citizens would have our personal freedom and rights stepped on, it could very likely happen now and has already to some folks in this country of many ethnic backgrounds. Everyone keeps saying that as long as you obey the law then you have nothing to worry about. Tell that to those that have sufferred due to the new rights of the FBI...

>People complain about the Federal Judges in District 9 being “too liberal”, or “too….. “ you fill in the blank. How about the ruling by the Oklahoma Judge on the national do-not-call list against telemarketers? Who cares what people want?

>After all, it is about the bucks involved. Florida and Nevada should be happy as a major source of employment for them is through telemarketers. Perhaps now more telemarketers will have an American accent and not one from India?
