The word.basic code works just fine; I merely needed to understand what it was doing so I could be sure it wasn't part of the problem.

As developers, we always want to work with the latest version of everything and we see many advantages to conversions and upgrades. However, the client, particularly the new client, sees an application that has worked well but now has a specific problem. They hire a developer to solve the problem, not to convert the application. They have no desire to fix what isn't broken, especially when there isn't yet a relationship of trust. Perhaps in time, conversion will be the right thing to do. At the moment, I really need to find and fix the problem (and I'm not having much luck <g>.)
