Some experts insist that if the Kurds are allowed to become a free state or allowed to govern themselves that Turkey and Iran will attack them. The amount of hatred in the world even today is almost astounding. If you do one thing it may offend one group – do nothing and you offend another, etc.

If absolutely nothing were done then there would be no use for the media. Imagine a world in which the media has nothing to report except how people help others and how good mankind is? Commercial television might gain new respect! Those soap commercials would look good after watching 24/7 of Mother Teresa and her friends.

At least it is more fun to comment on events we have no control of rather then just absorb and accept them. There is also much to be said for not directly participating in an event.

I am reminded of the argument in Catholic Grammar School when we were told, “God knows all things”. “ Then Sister, why does God allow us to act in a negative manner”! “Tommy, you will stay after school”! :)

P.S. At age 61, I still argue with Priests - I leave the Sisters alone. Who wants to have to "stay after school"! :)

Now say three Our Fathers, Five Hail Mary’s and make a good Act of Contrition! I feel better already. As so many Priests have told me, "This too shall pass my son"!
