The glory is in the name or title. Just like being called a Sanitary Engineer as opposed to the title garbage man. That reminds me – why do the people in the UK call garbage men dustmen? Perhaps the UK’s garbage is the size of dust and ours is just plain old garbage? :)
>They should be called phone solicitors instead of telemarketers because they are soliciting. marketing sounds so much better than soliciting though...

>>One of my favorite techniques to experience being used by telemarketers is when you pick up the phone to answer it and a chearful message is played. “All of our personnel are busy with other calls. Please stay on the line”!
>>
>>Also, the guy who keeps calling and leaves a ten-minute message (pre recorded) is annoying. You have to listen to the entire message in case you missed an important (to me) call.
>>
>>I think that the telephone numbers of all telemarketers and persons associated with that industry should have his/her phone number published so all members of the public can call them and say, “Hello, I just want to congratulate you for doing such a great job at annoying the public”! :)
