I had never tried this before (with the OptionGroup), but I understand that the creation order (called "instantiation order") and the ZOrder (back-to-front position on screen) are closely related. It seems that this is not a well-known fact. I learned it by doing a superficial investigation of a free framework - I think it was a newer version of the CodeBook, where it was important that a certain object on a form be instantiated before other objects.
