All my furniture was made in North Carolina. When I got out of the Air Force we saved our money and ordered what we wanted. We still have those items.

Do you have Costco out your way? It is a membership/discount warehouse out here on the west coast. My wife was thrilled to show me a computer desk that cost $1000. It said “Thomasville, North Carolina”, and the fine print said it was a division of Thomasville, made in China. The woods, finish and workmanship were very bad. I would not have such a piece in my house if it were given to me!

Woodworking is something I enjoy and both sides of my family were involved with hardwood and softwood.
