Does Win2K Pro limit the number of workstations that have one table opoened at the same time?

There's one applicaction that is run in 10 workstations in a lab. This app uses a .DBC an its respectives tables that resides in a Win2K Pro PC that acts like a file server. The problem is that when there are four or less workstations that are using a table (any table) at the same time, everything is fine, but when the fifth PC wants to open the same table, it can't do it, so it has to wait that one of the first four workstations closes the table so that the fifth can use it.

How can I solve this? I mean if there's such limitation or What can I change in the configuration of the Win2K Pro where the .DBC and the tables are?.
