Gregory,

At first I was going to say "noble", but I decided on "excellent" because the very idea of it is inspired. If this is your first exercise in C++, it sounds like a great way to get started. You should be given every encouragement and assistance, since your work could lead to a general VFP enhancement that's long overdue.

If you're planning to include C++ source code in the download, it would be a welcome addition for its tutorial value, and it could provide a way of your getting additional help from others proficient in C++. The last time I did any C (not C++) programming was about 15 years ago. From my perspective, the most immediate issue will be to understand how to use your facility from VFP, and what are its limitations.

I'll need to adjust my thinking when I wade through the Win32 API, now armed with the knowledge that I should no longer dismiss callback functions from consideration. It will take a while to review where I can make the best use of callbacks. Up to now I've always managed to find a way around this VFP restriction, but it's been like dodging bullets.

I'm looking forward to seeing your programs and documentation show up in the UT Downloads area. Thanks again!

Mike
