It's really too bad too. Clipper was one of the finest DOS based programming languages I ever saw. The only thing I ever used that compared was a programming language called FORCE. It was a kind of cross between Clipper and C. It was extremely clipper-like but it was strong typed and had more low level functionality built in. It also compiled directly to machine code. I don't know what ever became of it. They were going to introduce a Windows version, but I never saw it. It also had a great tight community of users. It was out of Germany as I recall.
