UPDATE: I just went back and did it again and this time it came back with 8 in the Windows category@#!#@! I must say that the web is looking more and more UNreliable as time goes by. Pity the poor soul who is some day undergoing remote robot surgery and the doctor clicks on the "Stop slicing" button, only to have it dropped/lost/ignored!

I just went to the Windows Update site (from my XP-home machine) to see if there were any new critical updates.

All proceeded as per usual, but when the search was completed it came up with zreoes for ALL update categories.

Now every other time there was a number, growing over time, in the 'other recommended updates' (or whatever they call it) category. Last I remember it was up to 8 others available.

Does anyone know of any problems with Windows Update and, if so, how to get it fixed? Doesn't look like I could use Windows Update to do so though < s >.
