I'm sorry, Ian, I misunderstood. There are some differences, however, between Word 7 and Word 97, including, I believe, some problems with creating help files. You very well could be right. Quite frankly, since I don't have Word 97, there's no way to check. It should copy data to the clipboard as CF_TEXT, perhaps it doesn't. This would mean that _CLIPTEXT couldn't access it properly.
