FYI, I just checked out the EPSON website. The model concerned (FX-1170 which in our country is very widely used) has no available driver update yet for XP. It says too that although XP contains the FX-1170 driver, it doesnt contain special printing features that was originally found in the Win9x driver.

>we have had many issues with xp and dot matrix printers. can you reset up the page under server settings and then apply it to the printer as the default? this now has to be done in two places as far as i can tell but i have no idea why. I have found that the dot matrix settings in xp are not great, presume that they are being phased out.
