It is a ratings and money game that dictates whether your show survives or dies. To that end, I would say that liberal talk shows are sparse because that can not garner and keep an audience for whatever reason.
Actually, I think it's more a reflection of supply and demand. For whatever reasons, talk radio as a medium is much more popular among conservatives than liberals.
