I'm trying to do some FTP via Wininet.dll from behind eSoft's InstaGate EX firewall/proxy. My user has no problem connecting to an FTP server with his IE 6.0, yet my call to InternetConnect results in a timeout error. Using INTERNET_FLAG_PASSIVE was no help and his IE option for passive FTP is not set anyway. I've also tried Richard Knierim's approach, outlined in msg #677035, of appending '@' plus the FTP server's IP to the UserName parameter and passing the proxy's IP in place of the FTP Server. This resulted in the password unallowed response. My guess is that somehow IE is square with the proxy while I'm not. Can anybody help me?
