My question is about string comparing functions in Visual Foxpro 5:

I need to compare character variables with both binary and character contents. After several dreamless nights of debugging i realised, that for example:

chr(7) = chr(8) ...
'b' = 'B' but 'B' <> 'b'
'ß' = 'S' (ß - german sharp s chr(223)) but "ßx' <> 'Sx'

... and so on. Please ... help me if you know. Thanks.
