>>>>>>Didn't see it, but wish I did. My whole take is that I am not going to vote for Borrin Orrin Hatch again. >>> >>>Oh, Orrin wasn't the worst, even though kept asking Gates to answer a question with a yes or no that was connected with the lawsuit against Microsoft, and inspite of one the other senators reminding him of this. The worst was Jesse Helms. He could barely mumble the questions that his staff had prepared for him. >> >>Helms did not come off as very awake, but I also thought that Kennedy looked a little out off it too, I think he would be more confortable discussing what goes into his favorite beverage than what browser should be used by whom. It sure makes our leadership process look extremely educated, if it were not for the notes from their staff, they would not have a clue. > >First, ROFL. Second, I thought that some of answers offered by Gates, Barksdale, and McNealy were designed to mislead. The one that got me the most, was offered by one of the latter two. They said that user's didn't have a choice because you go into Win 95 on boot up. Geez, I always thought that's what the operating system was supposed to do, which, after all, is what Win 95 is.

The scary part is that these idiots want to pass laws regulating software development. Nearly 20 years ago in PC land there used to be a lot of OS and CPU types but the FREE market has culled out all but a couple. Now the socialists in congress want to freeze progress in this country the way their spiritual brethren in the USSR did. Visiting the USSR was like going back to the USA in the 30s.
