As I came to work they released the following information on the local news:

1. “National unemployment 6.1%”- no change.

2. “57,000 new jobs”! Does that mean that 57,000 jobs were lost to maintain the stated percentage of unemployment?

3. “The Stock Market has been open for one minute and stocks have dropped 100 points”! Sounds like the usual neurotic market.

4. “ Local unemployment remains at 10%”. That’s nice. People hate change!

5. “We are in a jobless growth economy”! Really?
