Hi Ed,

<< I have two major points against it (not arguing that frameworks are good and written by good people :)
1. When I create something to my own I get greater satisfaction from my job, life etc. >>

Actually, these really sound more like arguments for getting a framework. First, when you use a framework, whether's it's VPM, VFE or any of the others, you still create the application. If anything, these products make you more creative because they free up your time to concentrate on specifics of the application and they take care of the underlying needs, like managing relationships, searching for records, etc so you can focus on the specifics.

<< 2. We (VFP propgrammers) are working on narrow market, i.e. we are specialized already as VFP programmers, but being e.g. VPM for VFP programmer looks too specialized :). >>

I'm not really sure what you mean by that, so it's hard to disagree, but from what I know of VFE and what I know of the other frameworks, there's very little specialization and they are all flexible enough to be changed to suit your own style. For the most part it's always more effective use of time to change something that already exists vs. creating something from scratch. Also, none of the frameworks force you to use the entire framework in its entirety, you can also not use the areas you think are too specialized and not provide those features or replace them with something you think is more appropriate.

<< P.S. Time is really important factor, and if you can do something to your own, it usually helps ta save it. >>

Time is probably the #1 reason to get a framework. Unless you're doing really simple wizards where the VFP base classes and framework will suffice all of the frameworks will save you an incredible amount of time. ProMatrix estimates that it'd take a VFP developer a year just to provide the functionality in their framework before they start working on their application. We estimate upwards of two years for an advanced VFP developer to create the functionality in the VFE framework. A ton of work also went into Mere Mortals and Visual MaxFrame. The prices of any of the frameworks are easily justified if they ultimately save you a days work on one project. In addition, your statement sounds like you subscribe to the theory of coding just to get the job done, which virtually always leads to more work in the long run.
