I'm developing a fat client/internet application for the Sheriff's Office where our officers can run tags, warrant checks, pull photos etc via cdpd or cdma wireless modems. I would like the officers to be able to use voice commands to execute the queries because many times the officers are riding in one man cars and can't enter tag numbers while driving.

Has anyone had any experience using voice recognition and VFP? I've experimented with it and found that the stuff from MS's speech sdk is ok, but I see the need for a microphone on the officer. (That's all they need is another thing hanging off them!) I was hoping there might be a microphone that could be mounted in the car that would be able to pick up the voice. Using the laptop microphone doesn't work well at all.

Hopefully one of you has had some experience with this and can offer a solution.
