I think one should get a fair return on one's investment ... It's that peculiar phenomenon where someone gets gouged because they don't live in the same neck of the woods that I have a problem with.
It happens over here too ... Although there's NAFTA (ha, ha) ... we still often pay a premium (relatively speaking) when we go "American".
Who's pocketing the difference ?
Strangely enough, when "ugly competition" starts to rear it's head, (e.g. European governments and open source), MS practically starts giving away licenses.
I'm just following through.
Anyway, the author's (of this thread) own government is pursuing open source; my response was framed within that context (the big picture).
