do you really need to go to java? i have a lot of friends who were big into java when we were in college, am i showing my youth?, and all of them without exception are either out of work or else changing skills as the applications they wrote were just never fast enough and java is no longer used as a cutting edge tool. these applications included mobile phone servers for sms and others that were well designed etc. but java just does not have the speed even on unix/linux. a younger friend of mine was big into java as well but i talked him into doing vfp for his big project last year and he has not looked back, also two of his friends started using vfp, all of them liked java but thought vfp was far better. i have never heard of anyone using java and vfp, i think that maybe the only way you could do it would be to seperate out the different layers, business logic etc. and maybe go from there but probably more work in that than just going for it.
Cheers

>We've got an application written in VFP 6.0 which is mainly built using objects. Our company now has a thing about Java and would rather like us to rewrite the application. Has anyone got any ideas about how we could gradually rewrite in Java and utilise class libraries that we've written in VFP. Probably not possible, but I thought I'd ask!
