>When I load the PC, a Quick Time icon appears in the tray. I don't use that. I would like to remove that. Even if I remove it manually, whenever the PC boots, it appears. How can I get rid of that for good?
When the icon appears at load, right click it. It will let you bring up the properties. Then choose the startup option you prefer, which would be you don't want it.
I had the same annoying problem and that worked for me.
