>Now that's out of the way. Why does the search engine return incorrect results if you access it as a Basic member? The example I have is the following:
>
>Search for: all active printers
>Type of period: Exact date range
>From: 01/01/2002 To:31/01/2002
>Type of Search: The exact phrase needs to be found
>Search fields: Search in title only

>For Basic members (me), this search returns 2 messages. For PUTMs, this search returns 0 messages. The 2 messages that are returned for me were actually created in March 2002.

>If this is the way it is supposed to be, IMO, this is ridiculous!! If you disabled the search engine entirely, that is one thing. That would be better. Basic users would know that searching was allowed but they couldn't access it. To be able to access it and have the thing return incorrect results because you haven't paid really ticks me off.
If this is in fact the result, than, of course, it's not correct. Assumption that we would have done something like that intentionnaly is not valid. :) First, I'd need to know with which PUTM account you discovered that. I'd need to check the default search options on that PUTM account to know if the criteria are exactly the same.
