Haha....that is similar to something I heard someone say a while ago: "WordPerfect 5.1 does a lot of the things DOS can do." He was referring to renaming files, taking directories, etc. and he was saying that you could just about do away with DOS. He was speaking along the lines of "DOS would be a simple program to create."

There is a big difference between an interface to display a directory structure and the actual low-level code that is responsible for communicating with the hardware to retrieve the information. Netscape actually could provide some of the same functionality as the GUI by using the functions of the operating system. Netscape is dependent on the operating system portion of Windows.
