OK Kids -- We have a winner! <s> Rottweilers (with 1 'l') are direct decendents of the Mountain wolves from northern Italy. The Roman legions used them in cattle drives (They liked good steak!) in their conquests. When the cattle were gone the dogs were abandoned. Germany is where the legions began to eat beans... <g>.
