Different Email clients handle attachments differently.... I've found my first try with UUEncode was not supported by many clients.
I haven't updated my original SendSmtpEmail code on the fox wiki yet, but if you check thread184-649427 at
www.tek-tips.com, then you'll find some MIME/Base64 code that can be integrated it. Codetyko hasn't posted his adjustments to the original routine yet, so you may have to do that yourself.
On the other hand, if you get the proper attachment AND the .TXT file, then maybe the problem is simply that the text of the email is being included as an additional attachment.
