HI,

I just purchased the MM .Net framework and I’m trying to decide if I should use it for my first major Win Form .Net app. The sample application was a big disappointment and only demonstrated the comment highlighted in the Developer Guide “The sample applications are incomplete, but will be finished for the final product!” Does anyone know when the “final product” and samples are due to ship? If the samples, which are very basic, are not complete where is the state of the rest of the framework?

I have had extensive experience with FP and VFP frameworks and understand how they evolve over time but my first impression of MM.Net has me thinking I should wait a little longer before using it. My main concern is how will the needed basic functionality I must add conflict with future releases?

This brings me to another point. I didn’t see any features list being worked on for the next release. I would like to have some idea where the product is headed. In other frameworks I have worked with the developers have always maintained a list of features under development for the next update.

Even though I’m thinking of holding off using the product, I must say I like the basic design and implementation of business objects and the data binding classes and wizards are worth the price of admission. MM for VFP is a great product, full of composite classes that really speed development and I’m sure MM.NET will evolve into a comparable product.

Help me make up my mind. I would like feedback from anyone who has experience with a win form app, completed or under development.

Terry Carroll
