What I've found so far:
- you get a .lbx instead of .frx
- it has its own way of page formatting, designed to fit multiple detail bands on a same page, in a manner which is somewhat better than the columns in a .frx
- you lose the ability to preview in a window, it always goes to its own window within _screen

So the difference is really minor. I'd think it's still there mostly for dBase (and foxplus, FP Dos, FPW,...) compatibility, simply because it was always there.
