Yes, if you make the address invalid, it won't do. CoDe is using XML to get the data on a regular basis from UT to get the up to date address.
As for hiding it, you can do that from the account setup. You can keep it in there but others won't see it. That is in the PUTM settings under "Hide my address and phone number when my information is shown".
