You guys are great! Here is what seems to be wrong.

I have a config.fpw. Have been using it for a long time.

There is a line
TMPFILES=

When the line is of this form... It gives me all of the problems I been trying to figure out.

Change the line to:
TMPFILES=GETENV("TEMP")
or
TMPFILES=C:\TEMP
Everything compiles and runs like it should.

I believe I copied the config.fpw from documentation or somewhere, so I do not understand why it doesn't work with the <>'s.

So thanks for the keys in the right direction and all of your help. This is the greatest forum there is for programmers.
