Leland,
"Mono" is not the only game in town; Portable.NET (the dotgnu project) has an implementation of the System.Windows.Forms namespace ... which can run on MS Windows.
SAP (which has released their enterprise SQL-based database server into the public domain) recently partnered with MySQL; I see consolidation in the "Dot Net" community as well.
>Every time I mention the window lock-in built into The Dot Net Framework, someone points out the mono alternative. I kind of wish mono didn't exits, because if give a false impression that Dot Net is interoperable, when it really isn't.
