>I have an application in VFP that does a tremendous amount of work on sizeable tables and I'd like to record my progress every half hour in the NT event log so that I can check speed, etc. from another machine on the network. I know this has to go through a Win 32 API but I've never done that. Can anyone shed some light on how to do this?

There are examples of this in VB at the following sites and will most likely require some type of wrapper or ocx as the API's can not be directly called from VFP, I will look through my stuff as I have done this under VB but not VFP
- Visual Basic Programmers Journal site
- Visual Basic Developer from Pinnacle
- MS Dev. Network and knowledge base has great examples
When searching look for creating services under NT as any services running under NT usually require that all messages be logged to the event log and this is where I found most examples.
