I have a problem with reporting. I cannot use the detail band as this will be reserved for some other query. In the page footer I need to report on a number of records in a cursor. There will be a maximum of 8 records in the cursor for can vary. I would like to print these records in the page footer. I cannot use the mline function as for each key in the cursor there could be up to 8 records. For example my cursor could look like:

I have a report which is grouped by key and starts a new group on each page. When I run the report in the page header I would like:

J001                    Car                  Prototype              3

Report 2nd page

J002                    Boat                 Prototype              1

Basically I would use the detail band but I need it for something else. Is there a function I can use to search my cursor for example?
