>no the sql is not running
you won't be able to connect to the SQL Server unless it's started. If SQL Server is on the local machine, you can start it from the cmd window with the following command:
NET START mssqlserver
-Mike
>hi
>no the sql is not running
>when I attach as local using the enterprise manager or the qeury analyzer I get the message " \\local:"
>server: msg 17 , level 16, state 1
