Try to close Debugger and issue

SET RESOURCE off
DEBUG

The 'Cancel' button shoul be the third button on the toolbar right after 'Resume'. BTW, what VFP version're you using?
Also, when you delete records from foxuser.dbf you've to pack it or VFP will use them anyway.
