Thanks again. Apparently, I have a couple of foxuser.dbf's, and when I changed the sole Debugger row's value in the Name column, I got my cancel button back. FWIW, I'm using 7.0.

It's interesting that deleting a row in foxuser.dbf doesn't cause VFP to ignore the row, especially since I found all sorts of deleted rows in the table, none of which I deleted. I wonder what the significance of deleting a row is?
