You can install the client tools without installing the server components. The fact that the Server Enterprise Manager is installed on the machine does not mean that the SQL Server service is also installed.

>Yes SQL is installed the enterprise manager is there, and on the menu,but the service manager is not. I would just reinstall SQL 7 just to be sure all components where installed properly but for various reason, one being that I don't own a copy of SQL 7 I can't.
