Neil,

Thanks for the comments. I unfortunately found the sample application completely inadequate. 90% of the menu options did nothing. The only two that did anything was the client order from and the options form to change the data source. All the other menu options were just for show, I guess. At least they could each display some message to alert the user that the app is working as designed.

I was sure I did something wrong so I uninstalled MM several time and reread the help files but I didn’t get any hints as to how the app was suppose to work.

At first I thought there was a user name and password that somehow trigged the menu options so I looked through the code and help files but still no luck.

Changing data sources is the only menu option that seems to work ok. One of the main reasons I purchased MM was the adverting that they had implemented a basic security system. But again the sample app menu option for security only put a check mark on the menu. I could not get the behavior to work as described in the help document. If you can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

The Client Order screen is very lacking. It only serves to demo the binding of data and calls to the business object. However there is much more BASIC data integrity features that must be added to the base form to make it useable in an application.

I am designing a base data form and security system that includes elementary navigational and mode control. One goal will be to see if I can work in using the framework. This brings me to one of my concerns. If I elect to use the framework now with the needed additions; what retrofitting will I need to do down the road if these features are added to MM. On the other hand, if I do use MM then I get the benefit of the business object design and the data binding methods.

I haven’t made up my mind yet. I still have a couple of weeks before I must return the product for a refund.

My goal is to try and make MM fit within my basic application needs as long as it doesn’t cause more work.

Regards

Terry Carroll
