From what I can tell I can still do this but I can't dispose of the datatable or dataview in the class function. Does .NET automatically pass this object back with the combobox? If I dispose of it then the combo is not loaded.<I think that once the combo is loaded, it doesn't need the datatable anymore ... I think Steve Sawyer had a thread here awhile ago that confirmed that (don't remember exactly what the thread title was). So, let's see your code ... it should work the way you want it to.
