Chuck,
The only time I have seen this in the past is when I was working with VFP and 7 and 6. The two formats were incompatible.

GenMenuX calls GenMenu to actually create the MPR file. Is the genMenu that is being invoked the correct VFP 8 version? Do you have an old VFP 6 GenMenu program out there?
