1. What version of Visual FoxPro are you using?

2. Are you talking about a multi-user system with tables stored on a central server, or a single user system with tables stored on the user's PC?

3. If the tables are on a Server - is the server Windows, Linux with Samba, Novell, etc.?

As others have suggested you could simply change the file names and extensions to something less obvious. If the system is multi-user, then instead of mapping a drive and facilitating an easy route for the User, you could consider using a UNC instead.

Consider encrypting the content of the tables.

If multi-user and you are using Windows (both Client and Server) and you have some control over User privileges etc. then you could use DCOM to totally lock the users out of the folder containing the data.
censored.
