The Mere Mortals .NET Framework
Paul,
Thank you for your reply.
I'm leaning more to using the framework each day as I learn more about how it is designed and have a chance to test the things I want in add. For example, I just learned today about how to use the StateChange event in a base class text box (inherited from MM) to suppress the default behavior I want in the textchange event while data is being bound.
I'm looking to trap the textchange event to trigger the EDIT mode of a winform. However the textchange event fires when the data is bound so adding an event handler for the statechange provides me with a way to determine if the textchange event was fired as the result of Business object databinding or by user input.
At least for now I think this is the way to proceed. I will follow-up on this topic in another thread in a few days.
Regards,
Terry Carroll
