I wanted to let you know that I was able to determine that the error returned during the file lockout is indeed Error # 41. Your suggestion does apply and has turned out to be the solution to the problem. It took over 3 weeks to prove it to the IT manager. He has finally moved the tables to a server running Windows 2000 and there have been no further problems.
