Hi Fernando,

>Sure I did, and find it very usefull. Can tell you that I'm always using it and have to compliment folks at MS for their great work.

Cool. I'm glad that the effort MS has been putting in to the manual is useful. I appreciate their willingness to ramp up the priority the manual had as part of the product.

>OTOH albeit the help file is great think it has its own purpose that, in my modest opinion, differs from that of a book, that was intended for an audience that is learning about the whole tool and must be prepared and paced in a different way than a help file, wich for me is basically for reference purposes.

I agree that books compliment, and everyone's experience is a little bit different, but in my experience the manual covers the beginner level subjects quite well. IOW, it hopefully gets a user up to where one of the Hentzenwerke books can take over. I admit it's a little hard for me to tell since my beginning experience was with the 3.0 product and that manual was strictly a reference, IMO.

>If you permit me, I'll use as an example the outstanding book (im my opinion one of the best books about VFP ever written): "Visual Foxpro 3 Developer's Guide", by Jeb Long.

That's great feedback. Have you considered authoring a book yourself? It seems like you have a vision of what it would be, and certainly you could bring to the table a multilingual approach. I don't speak for Whil, but he's always willing to entertain proposals. I thought I'd mentioned www.PortalFox.com earlier, but I don't find the reference. Pablo and his crew are providing an excellent resource for Spanish and Porteguese VFP developers. Maybe there's an hook there.

In any case, it's been a pleasure discussing book ideas with you.
