Please reread the help file for VFP timers. VFP timers are based on the old 18.2 tick per second clock, So you can't really do anything less than 55 msec.

The help file also discusses the fact that timer events do not fire during long running VFP commands or when menus selections are being made. In these cases the timer events will all queue up and will be processed the next time VFP "gets a chance" to handle them.
