Try placing the command SET ENGINEBEHAVIOR 70 at the beginning of the your application. Or, place ENGINEBEHAVIOR = 70 in your config.fp. This will make the DB engine bahave as it did in 7.0.

Between 7.0 and 8.0, The VFP team imposed stricter ANSI SQL standards. Before hand, VFP SQL allow for unorthidoc behaviors, such as have fields in your field list (besides the aggregated fields) that are the same fields in your GROUP BY list.
