>Sorry to disagree, but I think this behavior is exactly what I would expect. After all, VFP does let you change any of the settings 'for the current sesssion only' and, unless you explicitly set the change as 'default' it does not overwrite the defalt settings which are restored upon next start-up of VFP. For example, you can go into the Options Dialog and change the default form class. Unless you click "SET DEFAULT" such a change applies only until you quit VFP....

I understand how the set default option is supposed to work, and it is good the way it does work, but if VFP knows one of its settings is actually broken and causing things not to work, and it offers to "repair" that option, i think it should at the very least say "This has been repaired, please click set default to make the repair stay fixed", if not automatically make the "repair" stick around (Set default for that setting only) automatically.

I know if our system detected that its link to the database was missing and said "do you want to repair the database connection?" but didn't save the change so that every time a user opened the application it kept asking "do you want to repair the database connection?" there would be a bug report entered straight away.
Have a nice day :)
